Surrogate Benefits: Support, Protection, and Compensation with BabyTree

Becoming a gestational surrogate is a meaningful commitment of time, energy, and care. At Babytree Surrogacy, we believe a surrogate deserves clear compensation, practical support, and protection throughout the journey—not just a checklist of promises.

Every gestational carrier who comes to us is unique. Our benefits program is built around the emotional, physical, and mental commitment that surrogates and their families make while helping intended parents build their family.

What Do Surrogate Benefits Include?

Surrogate benefits are more than a single compensation figure. They include the financial package, case-management support, psychological support, medical and legal coordination, and protections that help a gestational carrier feel informed and supported from screening through postpartum recovery.

At BabyTree, our program is centered on three areas:

A benefit package designed for the journey

We offer one of the highest basic compensation packages in the market. BabyTree’s compensation and benefits program was created for surrogates, by surrogates, with the goal of providing meaningful security, benefits, and protection.

A support system that stays with you

Your coordinator guides you through screening, the legal process, embryo transfer, delivery, and the time after birth. Support should not disappear when a form is signed.

Protection when plans change

Surrogacy involves medical, legal, and personal variables. Our protection program addresses issues such as medical bills, payment timing, failed transfers, rematching, privacy, and matching with intended parents.

Screening and legal support

BabyTree’s one-on-one case-management system guides you through screening and the legal process, with support tailored to the needs that arise throughout the journey.

Read the full surrogate process for more information about the journey.

Matching and legal clearance

After the appropriate steps are completed, Babytree works to pair carriers with sincere, high-quality intended parents. We aim to secure a successful match within three video interviews with intended parents—ideally after one interview.

Your coordinator is available to help you navigate each milestone throughout the legal process and the rest of the journey.

Embryo transfer, pregnancy, and delivery

BabyTree’s one-on-one case-management system supports you from screening and the legal process through embryo transfer and delivery. Professional psychological support begins at legal clearance and continues after birth.

For more detail on this medical step, see what to expect during embryo transfer.

Benefits of Becoming a Surrogate with BabyTree

The decision to become a surrogate is personal. Many surrogates value the chance to help intended parents build a family, while also needing a program that recognizes the real commitment involved.

The experience of helping build a family

Gestational surrogacy can be an enriching endeavor. You are making a profound contribution to intended parents who are working toward parenthood, and Babytree approaches that contribution with respect for your time, health, family, and individual circumstances.

A program shaped by surrogate experience

Our case coordinators are experienced surrogates. They understand the practical questions that arise during appointments, legal steps, pregnancy, recovery, and everyday family life.

A personalized approach to compensation

If an item in our benefits package does not work for your circumstances, or you feel something is missing, we are prepared to craft a compensation package personalized to your situation. If you find a payment or benefit at another agency that better fits what you are looking for, we will do our best to match it.

Ongoing community and recognition

Babytree hosts monthly group meeting events to support surrogates. After legal clearance, every surrogate mother receives a sponsored pampering and relaxation event. These touchpoints are meant to recognize the person behind the process—not turn the journey into a transaction.

Financial Benefits and Surrogate Compensation

Compensation should be understandable, timely, and connected to the work of the journey. Babytree offers one of the highest basic compensations in the market and a comprehensive benefits package for gestational carriers.

What does the compensation package cover?

Babytree can discuss the compensation and benefits package available for your individual circumstances. If something in the benefits package does not work for you, or you feel something is missing, Babytree is happy to craft a compensation package personalized to your circumstances.

For the current compensation-page details, see Surrogate Compensation. The specific terms of an individual journey are governed by the applicable agreement and program documents.

Timely and complete payment

Babytree works to make sure you receive your payment on time and in full. If intended parents refuse to pay relevant bills, including an insurance lien, the agency will settle those bills.

No medical bill liability after trust closure

If you receive medical bills after the trust account is closed, the agency will settle those bills. This protection is designed to help prevent unexpected medical-bill liability after the journey.

Additional protections for specified infectious-disease matches

If you are paired with Hepatitis B-positive intended parents, or if embryos are infected with an STD, you will receive an additional $3,000, whether or not the transfer is successful.

If you are paired with HIV-positive intended parents, you will receive an additional $10,000, whether or not the transfer is successful.

Surrogate Support Before, During, and After Pregnancy

Strong support helps a surrogate focus on her health and family while the process moves forward. At BabyTree, support begins with screening and continues beyond delivery.

Your dedicated case coordinator

You will be assigned one case coordinator who supports you throughout the journey. If you are not satisfied with your assigned coordinator, Babytree will replace them at any time.

One-on-one support, 24/7

Our one-on-one case-management system guides you through each step, from screening and legal coordination to embryo transfer and delivery. We are available 24/7 to address emergencies immediately. You can reach the team by email, call, or text.

Professional psychological support

One-on-one professional psychological support starts at legal clearance and continues until two months after birth. If needed, that support can continue for up to six months after birth.

Support while you are preparing to qualify

Not qualified to become a surrogate yet? Babytree will work with you toward that goal. Start by reviewing the current surrogate requirements so you can understand the health, pregnancy, and screening considerations involved.

Protection Throughout the Surrogacy Process

Protection means having a plan for the situations no one wants, while still treating a surrogate’s choices and wellbeing with respect.

Failed transfer or miscarriage support

If there is a failed embryo transfer or miscarriage, the agency will rematch you. A failed outcome can be difficult; having a clear path forward matters.

Respect for personal decisions and comfort

If intended parents decide to abandon the child or request an abortion and the surrogate mother is not comfortable with that—even if she agreed to those terms in the contract—Babytree will find a family to adopt the child and still pay the compensation owed if she would like to give birth to the baby.

Privacy and social media consent

Your privacy matters. Babytree asks for your full permission before posting about you on social media.

Thoughtful matching with intended parents

We assist in pairing you with sincere intended parents and work to support a high-quality match. We also work hard to help pair you with intended parents in a way that supports a high transfer success rate.

Who Can Become a Surrogate?

Surrogate eligibility considers health, fertility and pregnancy history, screening, psychological readiness, and legal requirements. These safeguards help protect the prospective surrogate, intended parents, and child.

Health and prior pregnancy history

The application and screening process considers your medical history and prior pregnancies. A full review is necessary before any individual can be approved.

Medical and psychological screening

Screening helps make sure everyone enters the journey with the right information and support. It includes medical and psychological components, and it is separate from the financial benefits of the program.

Legal requirements vary by state

Surrogacy laws vary across the United States. Babytree coordinates the legal process for each journey, but individual legal questions should be reviewed with qualified legal counsel. For California-specific context, read California surrogacy laws.
