Contact us to arrange a consultation and confirm meeting details before traveling. Paulina is our Ontario & Los Angeles Office Manager and can help identify the appropriate next conversation for your journey.

An agency meeting and a medical appointment serve different purposes. We coordinate matching and case support; your fertility clinic directs treatment. Before making travel plans, clarify where consultations, screening, embryo transfer, prenatal care, and delivery would take place. They do not necessarily share one location.

Support for Intended Parents and Prospective Surrogates

If You Want to Build Your Family

Tell us what you have already discussed with your doctor. Some intended parents arrive with frozen embryos and a treating clinic. Others need information about donor options or are still exploring their path to parenthood. Your medical team should explain the treatment choices that fit your circumstances.

We welcome single parents, couples, and LGBTQ+ families, including families living outside California or the United States. Your location, clinic, budget, and expectations help shape the agency coordination you need. We do not assume that every family follows the same sequence.

If You Are Considering Becoming a Surrogate

Ask about screening, appointments, matching, compensation, and support before deciding whether to proceed. A surrogate's own children, work, home support, and recovery needs are part of the planning—not details to leave until after a match.

Matching is mutual. We discuss expectations and arrange an introduction so the intended parents and prospective surrogate can ask questions. Both sides should have time to consider whether the relationship feels right. An introduction does not replace medical clearance or legal preparation.

Gestational Surrogacy, Embryos, and Egg Donation

How the Medical Arrangement Works

In gestational surrogacy, a gestational carrier carries a pregnancy without providing the egg. An embryo is created through in vitro fertilization, or IVF, using eggs and sperm from intended parents or donors. The clinic explains genetic relationships and the medical plan; an attorney addresses legal parentage.

If you already have embryos, share the treating clinic's details and where the embryos are stored. Your physician reviews what is needed for a carrier cycle, including any additional records, evaluations, or transport arrangements. Embryo availability alone does not establish readiness for transfer.

When an Egg Donor Is Needed

Our egg donation program can be discussed alongside surrogate matching. Donor selection, medical evaluation, medications, egg retrieval, and embryo creation involve their own steps. Completing donor selection does not complete a surrogate's screening or legal preparation.

Ask your clinic what information is available about a donor, which evaluations are required, and how donor-related services affect treatment and cost. If donor sperm or donor embryos are among your options, discuss those arrangements with the appropriate medical and legal professionals. We coordinate the agency steps rather than decide which treatment is right for you.

Screening, Agreements, and Pregnancy Support

Medical and Psychological Readiness

The fertility clinic reviews relevant health, pregnancy, and delivery records. A previous birth is important information, but it does not automatically establish eligibility. A psychological evaluation helps explore expectations, emotional readiness, and the support available for the journey.

The American Society for Reproductive Medicine provides guidance on gestational carrier screening and counseling. Your treating team should explain how evaluation applies to you. Agency intake is not medical approval or a guarantee that pregnancy will be free of complications.

Independent Legal Advice and Treatment Preparation

Intended parents and the surrogate should each have their own legal representation. Your attorney explains rights and responsibilities, reviews the proposed agreement, and advises on the California parentage process for your family. Agency coordination is not independent legal advice.

Discuss compensation, expenses, insurance, confidentiality, communication, and decisions that might arise during treatment or pregnancy before signing. Your clinic and attorneys confirm the necessary clearances before treatment proceeds. Ask what remains outstanding rather than assuming that a completed match means everything is ready.

For families living outside California, ask whether you also need advice in your home jurisdiction. Parentage recognition, insurance, and travel paperwork should be planned early rather than assumed to follow automatically from a match. International intended parents should discuss citizenship and travel-document questions with qualified independent counsel. Courts and government agencies control their own decisions and processing times; we do not promise a particular legal result or document approval.

Embryo Transfer, Prenatal Care, and Birth

The fertility clinic directs medications, monitoring, embryo transfer, and follow-up testing. We help coordinate practical arrangements around that plan without prescribing treatment, interpreting results, or promising implantation.

After early monitoring, the medical team explains the transition to prenatal care. Before delivery, discuss hospital communication, travel, and the documents your attorney expects you to need. Medical circumstances may change a birth plan. After birth, intended parents may need further paperwork while the surrogate needs time for recovery and support.

Budgeting and Our Matching Assurance

Understand Costs and Payment Responsibilities

Our published California planning range is approximately $125,000 to over $195,000. This is not a fixed Ontario quote or an upper limit. Donor involvement, medical treatment, insurance, travel, and changes during the journey can affect the total.

Request a written estimate separating agency fees, surrogate compensation, screening and IVF, legal work, escrow, insurance, and practical expenses. Ask who invoices each item, when payment is due, and what could require additional funds. Our California surrogacy cost information can help you prepare those questions.

Surrogates should receive a separate explanation of base compensation, allowances, eligible reimbursements, and payment timing. Your own attorney should explain the agreement. A general program description is not a substitute for the financial terms that apply to your journey.

Insurance also needs a policy-specific review. Fertility benefits, coverage for the carrier's pregnancy, and coverage for the baby are different questions. Ask a qualified professional about exclusions, deductibles, coverage dates, and possible uncovered care rather than assuming one policy covers everything.

Our Three-Year Match Assurance

With our assurance program, if your match does not work out, we will match you with another surrogate at no additional cost within three years. Ask us to explain the program terms and how any separate medical, insurance, or other third-party expenses would be handled.

This assurance concerns matching. It is not a promise of a successful embryo transfer, pregnancy, or particular delivery date. Your medical team should explain treatment options and risks, and your agreement should identify the services included in your program.

Ontario, California Surrogacy FAQ

Which Ontario Does This Page Cover?

This page covers Ontario, California, in the United States. Babytree's head office is at 961 W Holt Blvd, Ontario, CA 91762. Contact us before visiting to confirm your consultation arrangements.

Will Every Appointment Happen at the Head Office?

No. Agency consultations, fertility treatment, prenatal care, and delivery may take place at different locations. Your treating clinic and care team determine medical arrangements. Ask which appointments require travel and whether any approved monitoring can take place nearer the surrogate's home.

Can We Start Without an Egg Donor or Embryos?

Yes, you can begin with a consultation while exploring medical options. Tell us whether you have a clinic, need donor information, or are still considering your treatment plan. Your physician explains the medical choices, and we discuss agency coordination.

Who Decides Whether I Qualify as a Surrogate?

The full process involves agency intake and professional reviews, including the fertility clinic's medical assessment. Do not assume that a prior pregnancy or an age range seen online establishes eligibility. Ask what records are needed and who will explain the review.

How Long Will Matching and Treatment Take?

There is no single timeline for every journey. Mutual preferences, screening, donor or embryo needs, legal preparation, and clinic scheduling affect the sequence. Ask us to explain the next milestone and what needs to happen before it, rather than relying on a fixed matching or delivery date.
